Thinking of You - Ombre

This card is for the Addicted to CAS challenge - Code Word - Ombre.

I started with shades of blue and teal Gelatos on watercolour paper then layered with the script and harlequin (VLV) stamps. The sentiment is layering on a fabric ribbon and the girl stamp is from Viva Las Vegas Stamps. It was then mounted on scrapbooking paper and the card.

Addicted to Coffee

This is for the Addicted to CAS - Code Word Coffee.

I don't have too many a day, but when I do, I really like to taste the coffee!
So I thought I would use the resources around me and go with the real thing, starting with authentic coffee cup rings and some coffee grounds to use for texture.

A Flat White is my choice when I am out so that is what I chose to depict.
I added Golden Glass Bead medium to the coffee ground to give them a bit of shine.

This Moment - Card

Set out to create a card to fit with a couple of challenges:

I started with watercolour paper and applied a layer of sewing pattern paper. I decided to try stamping with the end of a cotton reel as I thought this would fit nicely with the theme of my card. It worked quite well with the paint (very subtle in pale green) but not quite at defined with the clear embossing stamp. I think the stamp pad is a bit squishy and the reel wasn't completely covered - still OK though. I dripped Liquitex ink and sewed around the edge as well as sewing on the sentiment. Maybe not as CAS as it is supposed to be - my first time at this challenge. It is tricky sometimes to keep is simple, especially as I'm trying to get better at layering!

Tag - Clean & Simple

This is for Crafty Individuals Challenge - Clean and Simple & Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - also Clean & Simple

I was lucky enough to receive some stamps in the post last month. They came very quickly - thanks. I tried to choose something that I could use over and over again and went with Ferns and Grasses. I used a tag I had been trying out some ink techniques on and used some of the stamps for a simple but effective design.

Just Be Happy

I created this card for the Simon Say Stamp Monday Challenge - It's A Stitch Up.

The black cards seemed a good idea as I often seemed to be painting a black background on cards. The I realised that not everyone may have a pen to write on the black inside (I sometimes give blank cards to others as gifts for them to use) so I decided to insert some red paper that I had used as a background layer on the from. The front design was created using Liquitex Inks, an embossed stamp and machine stitching. I carried this design inside and onto the envelope.
