A couple of weeks ago I was lucky enough to to Sydney, with two of my children, for a concert in the Opera House. We had an amazing time there together and so I decided to create a page to remember it by.
I started with some notepad 'money' in the background, toned down with some gesso. I then used mope up baby wipes and patterned paper to create stylized harbour bridge and Opera House. Some ink drips, a bit of stamping and stenciling and panoramic views of the inside of the concert hall.
This is for The Craft Barn Alpha Challenge 'O'.
I live in the states, and even I knew it was the Opera House before I read the title. This is incredible and I love the views from the interior, too. Lucky, lucky you! And a great entry for CB, too!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your nice comments. I was lucky - it was part of the surprise trip back home from London by my son. I will admit, that the O is for Opera House is a bit big, and not actually stuck down - just for the entry! :)
DeleteFabulous collage piece, and what a great trip to do. Bit far for me from the UK, but you never know what the future holds! Maybe some day ...
ReplyDeleteA brilliant collage page and a great way to remember your trip there.

What a clever collage and an inspired choice for "O". The Sydney opera house is such an iconic building you cannot fail to recognise it. This is a great page.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all your lovely comments Julia. - Raewyn
